My next public performance is a recital in Carnegie Hall's Weill Hall on February 26 with pianist (and best man) Timothy Long.
For this benefit concert for the Walter W. Naumburg Foundation,
a
cabaret program on the theme "Songs of Decadence" was requested, and we are happily obliging by offering a handful of classic
Meglioranza-end-of-recital pieces by Marc Blitzstein, William Bolcom,
and Cole
Porter (if you've been to a few of my recitals, try not to gather your
belongings and leave after you hear Blitzstein near the beginning of
the program),
some more recently learned cabaret songs by Arnold Schoenberg and
various British Music Hall composers, as well as a generous helping of
pieces that are brand new for me, including some of
Gabriel Kahane's notorious Craigslist-Lieder, and three intensely beautiful songs
by Joseph Kosma.
This appears to be my only song recital in NYC this season. I hope you'll come!
